Erik and his staff at California Watersports (or Carlsbad Lagoon) were awesome. They have everything you can imagine for waters sports; waverunners, mini boats, runabout boats, small and large pontoon boats, aqua cycles, and even fun little swan paddle boats. Make sure California Watersports is on your bucket list when you visit Carlsbad or San Diego. They helped me do three through eight of my 57 Adventures in 57 Hours in San Diego.

This place is so cool! We brought our Hoop San Diego basketball trailer down for Row in the Dark on a beautiful summer night. Turned off the lights and let the disco light balls do their thing. Everyone had so much fun. Kids and adults of all ages. Place is super clean and well kept. Safe and a really fun family environment. The owner is super cool and accommodating. Would recommend checking it out if you're looking for a fun summertime evening activity.

The place is clean and the jet ski is in good condition. The price is over for a limited place to jet ski. Oy around a small circular area of the lake.

The staff are super kind and helpful! Great customer service and they also allow you to switch people off on jetskis which made them perfect for our group of three! Even if California Watersports is a little more than your other options choose them because they do not bring upon any hidden fees or unreasonable rules!

Probably the most expensive jet ski rental in San Diego. Check out Seaforth rentals in mission bay. They are half the cost.

I've enjoyed the activities here for work and family events, and it's always been SO MUCH FUN!! They have a great team who will guide you through getting set up with any of the activities that fit your interests and answer all your questions. It's a lovely place to enjoy!!

Great experience. Accidentally reserved 2 Tandem kayaks instead of the one person kayaks and they made it effortless in correcting my mistake. Was a chilly overcast day but still had fun. One hour was fine for a chilly day but for a sunny day I wouldve stayed 2 hours.

Great place to experience lagoon happenings! Weekends can be busy., but plenty of available parking. A must do in Carlsbad. Try a swan if you don’t want to get wet.

The jet ski are only for staff to use (wish they would have informed everyone before hand) However staff was extremely nice and the environment was clean.

Super fun! We rented the Swan paddle boat and it was amazing. The only reason I'm not giving them a 5 star is only because I wish someone would have given us a warning about getting too close to the Wildlife Preserve. We ended up getting stuck in the mud pretty far from the shore. My son had to jump out of the boat and push us out and then swim us quite a ways into the middle. So it was an adventure for us but I wonder how many others would feel that way?

Good customer service. Rental process was easy. Into the water quickly. 2 hour rental was a perfect time! Decent room and space for kayaking. Quiet and relaxing. Super close to everything in Carlsbad. Easy access from the freeway. Will do again!

I came here with my daughter and rented the paddle board for two hours for 50$ Per person.I was fun however you should expect to have some degree of k ow ledge before heading into the water. We were given the gear and then I had to find a staff member to ask for a quick rundown on how to use the boards and also have to just help yourself to the life jackets.I wish there was more organization.

Cool place to hang around for 3-4 hours. I must say that the staff here is awesome they helped us a lot to make sure we enjoy our time. First, we were confused about what to ride but then we choose to Peddle boats for 2hr, after 15 min we thought we should switch to kayak and they did that without any charge as all these rides are the same price you can enjoy all of them. It must have been possible due to the low crowd on Sunday we went, Jet Ski also we rented 1 and shared amount us, we were 10 people and all of us enjoyed all most all rides. Kids enjoyed the beach area also, the only sad part we felt is no changing rooms, I guess they should have 2-3 changing rooms. I would definitely visit this place again...

Be prepared for the crowds. The company and reservation process is quite easy. But there can be a long wait during peak hours. Today was our first time and my partner and I waited in line for about 25 minutes. The line goes outside the store so you're standing in the sun. Once we got inside, there was AC, and the process went super quick. I believe the attendee who helped us was named Katie and she was extremely efficient, knowledgeable, answered our questions, and we were done in minutes. Thanks Katie!After finding the 2 guys sitting on a deck with clipboards, they vaguely directed us to another young fellow named Brodie (spelling). He quickly got us oir equipment and we were off. The process is not super organized, its more a controlled chaos. But all the attended seemingly just go with the flow and just you off into the water. Was definitely worth the $ for a 2 hr kayaking accent for our first time. Had a good time. Woukd recommend to a friend, but emphasize to go with the flow of the controlled chaos. Wear sandals. Make sure you bring limited items you care about getting wet. Every thing will get wet. 🙂

Always a fun spot to go with friends, family or a date. The paddles boards are my favorite. MKe sure to check Groupon before you go. But if you would rather they have peddle boats, pontoon boats , ski boats and a beach with a jump house.If you need to get out this is a great option.

It was fun however they don't tell you that your not allowed to swim there. The cops end up telling you. We rented a pontoon boat for 3 hours $699.00 and it was a really small place to do circles for 3 hours. We thought we were going be able jump off boat and swim. And our Bluetooth system was broken on our boat so we were NOT fully satisfied especially for the price. They also are unorganized we got sent in all different directions after checking in.

If you looking for a relaxing place to walk around and see a bunch of cool plants this is it. We came here on a sunny Sunday and spend about 2 hours just walking the trails and soaking up the sun. There were a lot of little trails and the place is pretty big. They also had a shuttle option if you don’t want to walk a lot. They have a couple bathrooms spread around and a couple areas for kids to play. It was a cool thing to do on a nice day.

booking online is pain. we booked a 3 hour boat rental... found out nope you booked 3 boats 1 hour each.... oh and only 2 hours available. by the time we got it sorted and on boat was 1 hour 15 min on water.... after the instruction ride out around lake for 20 min

One of my favorite places to go to! Fun fishing spot. You can always see the orange fish and the water it's so pretty. This spot is the perfect place for watching the sunset too!

Being situated right off the freeway, how could this little water sport rental place be any good, right. That's what we thought, but decided to take the kids and introduce them to power boats and wave runners. What a surprise it turned out to be. Staff was friendly, polite and helpful. Parking was easy as place wasn't crowded. Had plenty of top notch gear to choose from. And we all had a blast. Great place to picnic and power boat for the afternoon. Highly recommend spending an afternoon here.

This place is awesome. That staff is super friendly and accomadating. Parking was never difficult, you can bring you own pop up tent and food. This is fun filled day for your family even just getting in the water. We rented waverunners, standup paddle boats and kayaks. It was so fun and everyone left pooped but in a happy way

Unfortunately you can only drive around in a large circle on jetskis. No open water.

Dirty water next to a freeway. I brought my own jett skies hopping I could launch them and I could not. I was dissapointed. But we made the best of it. They had an ok volley ball net and some picnic tables available for use. The place is run by teenagers and is a but dirty. Bathrooms are at the top of the hill. I don't think I will be going here ever again.
