Well my mother wanted to get a princess jasmine cake for my daughter’s 6th birthday. I provided a photo for how we wanted the cake to look, it was an example from the Internet. Well they managed to do it exactly what was on the photo by even using the name in the example, when they were informed of my daughters name.I get to the party to see this cake with a different child’s name on it, I didn’t think it was even mine. Oh but it was! With the name ‘Bella’ which is not my daughters name her name is Celine. I was mortified and so upset knowing my mother spent $500 for this cake. People are so dumb these days, I can’t even hang ?I had to take off the name and make my own decorations to cover it up. Such a waste of money, don’t go there unless you want to deal with idiots.

I ordered a birthday cake for my moms 94th birthday I was so happy on how it came out and more importantly my mom loved it and was so suprised. The cake was not sweet.i highly recommend Sweet Arlenes the staff were so nice

So many frustrating and disappointing elements to our experience with ordering a custom cake here. We were eager to try a cake from here based on the beautiful photos of their prior work and an encouraging conversation with the employee that took our order and helped nail down all the details of how we wanted the cake to look. Come pick up time, the cake was nothing like what we specified on the order - clearly some miscommunication from the person who took the order to the person decorating. Seeing the notes on the order sheet, they left out practically all of the details we had noted and provided sample pictures of so it’s no wonder the baker didn’t get it right. Past that, we were at least hoping it was going to taste good. Nope, HUGE disappointment there too. The sponge was super dense and dry, like a crumbly brick just covered in butter. Buttercream frosting wasn’t fluffy or soft and the proportion/layering of sponge to frosting was incredibly off. For a 7 in tall cake, having just ONE layer of frosting in the very middle is just absurd. It was clear that this cake was made to “look” good and hold up structurally but at the expense of everything else. And considering the “look” wasn’t even what we asked for, we honestly would have been better off just having a cardboard fake cake in place of this one. Huge waste of money and will not be recommending by any means.

A local must have a staple. When dating in college, my then boyfriend used to rave about Sweet Arleen’s. After tasting their red velvet cupcake, I understood why. We pick up cupcakes often but also had our wedding cake and cupcakes done by them and they were a hit! Do yourself a favor and work with them. Do yourself a favor and purchase a cake from somewhere else. The owner Julia does not care and does not return emails or calls until about a week later. They messed up my daughters purchase for a wedding cake and made up an excuse that she was very busy and only gave her barely a 50% refund but would give her a 100% store credit.I would not take her store credit either. Then my daughter paid $15 extra for a certain frosting and she did not even offer to refund any of that.If you read her yelp reviews, you will see that she never responds to any of the reviews. Save your money and read all reviews possible first.Sincerely,Unhappy customer

I got married in November and gave a picture of what I wanted the cake to look like.....It was identical, I couldn't have asked for anything more! They did an amazing job and everyone loved it. They were able to work around the egg whites in the frosting for us because we are sensitive. Would use them again for other events!!

Delicious!! There are a o many flavors to choose from. I have celiac disease and the gluten free cupcakes are delicious and safe. My family eats the gluten-full cupcakes and love them. We are regular customers and buy them for all of our celebrations.

I never had a cupcake like the size of a muffin. Their cupcakes are literally big and yummy! I had the banana caramel and the chocolate marshmallow. Oh they’re so good!!! I can only dream about having them because I live all the way here in the Bay Area.

Sweet Arleen's was great to work with! We requested a vegan cake and they gave us plenty of options to choose from. Our cake came out delicious and people had no idea it was vegan. I also had a very specific cake design I wanted and they matched it perfectly.

I went in on Saturday at 5:30 to order a cake to pick up on Tuesday. I was told they weren’t taking orders until Wednesday for cakes due to back log. They told me to go to Glessons. I can not tell you how disappointed I was. I have ordered other cakes from them and know how good they are.

We had Sweet Arleen's make cupcakes and a 6"round cake for our daughters wedding. They delivered and set everything up for us. The only complaint that I have was with the small cake. We delivered flowers and the cake topper to the bakery 4 days prior. They did not put the flowers or the cake topper on the cake. So all we had was a a plain white cake at the wedding. I called the bakery on Saturday and talked with manager and she said she would look into it and call me back. Have not heard a word.

My favorite bakery!!!!! I love the gluten free options for my son who has celiac. I recently had a custom tiny wedding cake make to take to Tahoe with me for my wedding. The pastry chef worked with me and made my cake easy to transport . Everyone loved the cake !!! I even had 2 cupcakes made to freeze for our 1 year anniversary.❤️

The keto cupcakes are sooooo good! They have cheesecake, red velvet, and chocolate for keto cakes. I bought a cheesecake the other day, and I came back the next day to get more!!!! The cakes are smooth, tasty, and creamy. I would definitely recommend even if you are not on keto. Sooooo good!

These cupcakes were a BIG hit at my moms retirement party at her job… I ordered 10 dozen of the mini cupcakes… red velvet, vanilla, chocolate, lemon and carrot… I also ordered my mom a dozen gluten free mini cupcakes… she absolutely LOVED them…

Birthday Success???? I ordered cupcakes for delivery in Westlake Village. I live in CO. Long distance ordering is often frustrating but not this time!! There was a small delivery snafu but the staff (Paige in particular) quickly and completely made it “all right” and managed to please everyone!! Cute shop, responsible staff, caring customer service AND fabulous cupcakes!! ?

We ordered a custom birthday cake for our little boy's first birthday. Julia was so helpful and communicative, sending pics and checking everything was as we wanted it so she could make the cake as we wanted. She had a little fondant bear made on top which was so cute, and the cake looked just like the pictures I had been sending her! She even delivered the cake on the day personally! The cake and the cupcakes we ordered to go with it were delicious and I would definitely recommend using her for any cake order! Great experience and great cake!

Cupcakes were good. Taste was flavorful and presentation was a step above most places. The only negative I have is they seemed under-staffed at the time of my visit. No one answered the phone for curbside pickup and once inside, after a bit of a wait, could see only one very nice but a bit overwhelmed girl working.

The cupcakes are super delicious they have keto, vegan, and Gluten free which I desperately look for and they tasted divine. Bread was moist and soft and tasted like they had been made with a lot of love and care. As a cupcake lover I can say they're bigger than sprinkles and they are so far the best I have tasted in the LA/valley area. The staff are so nice and I loved it. Too bad it's so far away but it was amazing.

Somewhat disappointed with the hype. Cupcakes were OK but the frosting on all samples were mediocre. Cake part wasn't much better. Almost liked the banana brownie one; the brownie part was good but (a) the banana frosting taste just didn't go with it at all and (b) the frosting itself seemed cheap. There are other places in Ventura county and beyond (Nadia's cakes) which make better cupcakes (at least what I've had). On the other hand, their bread pudding was good, so if I ever went back, I'd probably just stock up on that...

Beautiful cake, amazing cupcakes... They helped us provide a covid safe dessert by boxing individual cupcakes for our guests... So glad someone mentioned them to us... Looking forward to birthdays and other celebrations involving their goods... Greatful for the extra work on their end to make it work during these times.

I really love their lemon raspberry cupcake here, not too sweet, not too sour and the icing is not thick. And Cassidy was very helpful with the loyalty program, just tell her the phone number. Every $40 you’ll get a free cupcake! I’d definitely go back there.
