My family and I had a wonderful tour of San Diego with both J and Kimmy. They made the tour come to life with their humour and knowledge of the area.5* given by our 8 year old daughter, who thoroughly enjoyed the tour.We hopped off for lunch at the Crack Taco Shop in Seaport, on recommendation, by J. Our meal was delicious.
A must do while in San Diego!! The best on of tour I’ve experienced. Cesar made it extra memorable sharing an amazing array of knowledge about San Diego. All in real time!! He made sure we saw all the things he talked about! Can’t recommend highly enough!!
Deb, Letter J and Tommy are the best tour guides! We loved all the history and tips! They were amazing! Our last tour guide Alejandra is awful and chilly, borderline rude! I would recommend she ride around with tour guide Deb to gain a nice personality! 2 stars for Alejandra ??All pics were from Debs tour.Ms. FancyGoogle Reviewer8 million + picture views!
Jack was one of our guides. He was great. We did the Trolley tour during a 6 hr layover. The tour took a solid 3 hrs and we stopped at the Fish Market restaurant next to Midway for lunch. We took the free shuttle (Flyer) from the airport to Old Town. We were able to store our luggage at Old Road E-Bike Rentals. This was a block away from the Old Town Trolley ticket station. This was soo convenient. It was only $6/bag. Overall a great experience!
Incredible service from all the staff. Contracted for 14 private tours and every one was first class. Attendees could not stop talking about how much they enjoyed each tour. If you are planning any event in San Diego and transportation, charter Old Town Trolleys!
The driver, a woman, named Alejandro, was very abrasive, and she made our ride very unpleasant. On the other hand, after we changed trolleys, Orlando was a pleasure to listen to. He was funny and talkative. Very knowledgeable about San Diego and he asked everyone who got on where they were from and remembered that information throughout the ride. I give Orlando 5+ stars! He salvaged our journey and made it enjoyable.
Not great for families with young kids. We were visiting my brother in San Diego. Despite the expense, we opted for the trolley tour and had a pretty bad experience. With nap times, we really needed/ tried to get everything in in the morning/early afternoon. After we had made two stops, it was time to head back. We waited at the station for the next trolley... but it was full. It was starting to rain heavily with lots of wind. We called and asked what our options were as there were 8 of us, including a 6 month old, 2 year old, and 5 year old. They said they would send a trolley in 8 minutes. Trolley arrives 20 minutes later, and it is full. We are drenched, baby crying, 2 year old crying and late for nap. Finally, an hour after we arrived to catch our first trolley, a trolley arrives to take us home.I called multiple times during this window to try to get help. I also asked for a refund/partial refund given the poor experience with multiple full trolleys. They said they would call if they had questions on the refund. They never issued the refund, they never called. I called back twice since then and no one will get back in touch with me.In addition to the poor experience, we also just didn't get much value out of it. We would have been better off just driving, being in more control of our schedule, and reading about the historical places we visited. If you are traveling with a larger group or young kids, save yourself the headache and expense!
Old Town Trolley Tours truly lives up to its reputation! ? The bus driver’s enthusiastic narration about the city’s history adds an extra layer of enjoyment to the journey. And the tour guide was nothing short of amazing—his wealth of knowledge kept me captivated throughout the entire ride. ??Staying on the trolley for the entire loop is a testament to the fascinating sights that await passengers. With so much to explore, it’s no wonder you’d want to extend the experience over 2-3 days. ??
An excellent way to get an overview of the city, hop off and spend time at specific stops and plan for more time at other locations. Learn about the neighborhoods and the history. We decided on the one day ticket but if you are really new to the city, you might want two days. Very informative and enjoyable. Dress in layers - the side windows might be open and the weather can change.
If you’re visiting San Diego for the first time, this is the perfect way to get yourself accustomed to the city! Our Tour Guide, Frank, was very informative and he’s a local. He did a great job of making us comfortable!
Very informative, fun and invigorating tour even as a local. Always something to learn in life. Cesar was fantastic and had a great sense of humor! Highly recommend.
If you're looking for a unique venue to host your wedding, you can look no further than The Nat. The prices are excellent, the museum is beautiful, and its activities are great for guests of all ages.We held our church wedding at a local parish on 09/30/2023, followed by our reception on the same day at The Nat. Our reception was four hours long, starting with a cocktail hour on the second floor of the museum, and followed by a dinner/dance on the first floor. The museum is very spacious. We held a wedding reception with 160+ guests, with room to expand to 200 and still have space for a dance floor. We also had the advantage of having a scavenger hunt all around the museum (coordinated by The Nat) during cocktail hour, which our guests loved. I highly recommend adding the bar services from The Nat to your event. We got the 3-hour unlimited drinks Paleozoic-Liquor-Beer-Wine-Soda and a 1-hour cashless bar -- to allow people to sober up before leaving the reception.Overall, we are thrilled with how beautiful everything looked and the services provided at The Nat for our wedding reception. However, I recommend people be mindful that The Nat is a museum first and a wedding venue second. Communication was slow during our wedding planning/coordination period but sped up during our wedding month. Please be mindful of this and be patient with The Nat. They did a fantastic job on the day of our wedding, even gifting our catering team free tickets to visit the museum after our event, and I could not be more content with how incredible our reception was the day of our wedding.
Fantastic tour guides. Particularly Orlando who we rode with for an entire tour before Hopping Off because he was such a fount of knowledge. Tommy and Kalani also were fantastical! Fun and informative! An absolutely brilliant way to experience San Diego! So. Much. Fun!!! Thank you! I will use the Old Town Trolley every time I visit San Diego!!!
A must do if you have a few hours to burn..A must do if you love history. Tommy our driver was a blast. Rode the entire tour and never got off once because we were having so much fun learning and laughing about the rich San Diego history. Seriously considered doing a 2nd loop just because. Awesome experience would definitely do again and recommend.
Great activity when you don't really know the place, the guide - David - super funny and very knowledgeable. It took about 2 hours without hopping off.
A really good way to get to see parts of the city you might not get to otherwise. My only criticism is it was at times difficult to hear the commentary with other traffic around and annoying other passengers talking. Some very entertaining stories from the three guides we met as we hopped on and off at various locations.
Goose was AMAZING! He was funny, informative, and incredibly helpful. Traveling with a senior can be difficult, and meeting people like Goose along the way makes these trips so much more enjoyable. Thanks Goose!ALSO, for anyone reading this before taking the tour & if you get lucky enough to be on Goose’s bus, LISTEN TO HIS SUGGESTIONS!!!!! We went to one of the dozen restaurants he suggested and I can honestly say it’s the best meal I’ve had in California. Give that human a raise!
Did the trolley tour since it was a bit of a rainy morning in San Diego. Frank was our driver/host/guide and although he was fairly new, he was well versed in San Diego history and culture. We had a good time exploring the city and have enjoyed the trolley tours in other cities with this not being any exception. If in San Diego again, will definitely either do the tour again or pick our favorite spots and spend more time there. Definitely recommended though!
Thoroughly enjoyed our Old Town Trolley adventure with Matt in San Diego (September 1, 2023-3:30 - 5:00 PM) ... he was informative, energetic, enthusiastic, and genuine! As first time visitors to California, we learned about the history and made memories at the same time 🙂
Normally, my group of friends will do a guided city tour to fill in our trip itinerary. This trolley tour would be worth a two day ride. So many places they stop were places we had planned to visit. I wish we had taken the opportunity to hop off/on more of those places instead of driving ourselves back to the locations. The guide was articulate and very informative. She was full of facts and entertaining as well. This tour is totally worth the cost!
Visiting San Diego from out of town and we decided to take this tour on the suggestion of our hotel. We were so glad we did! It was fabulous. The tour drivers are all knowledgeable and very funny. The tour goes to so many places. My husband and I hopped on and off at different locations and explored the areas. It’s a great tour and I would recommend it to anyone visiting here and wanting some history information and to explore places.
This tour was so much fun! Our driver, Mike did a great job at being a tour guide, fun music, cute jokes, and amazing San Diego history. I totally recommend this tour ???
Mrs. M.J. was an Excellent Driver On Our Trolly As Well As Perfect Host. It Was Fun And Learning Experience For All Of Us. If You're Ever In San Diego And Chose A Trolly Tour From Old Town, I Hope It Will Be With Her. ENJOY!!!
Although I think it’s a lil expensive, the tour itself is good and we had a very friendly and informative trolley driver named Patricia. It took about 2 hours or so to complete the full tour without hopping off at any location. We started off at the old market stop and ended there as well. Through out the tour, the driver shared information about various landmarks and places along the way.
Perfect way to see the city without renting a car. Plan to spend the whole day you will see so much and can stop at one of the countless restaurants for lunch. Tour guide was amazing!!! Hey Belle ?.
It was a wonderful experience to be on this tour.1. They cover a large part of city that can be toured.2. The drivers keep narrating the history behind the place. All of them have their own style of communication, trying to engage the travelers.3. You can de-board the bus wherever you want to (at designated spots), hang out at places and can hop on to the next bus for further stops.4. They also give you recommendations about various restaurants.5. You are tension free for taking Uber or riding your own car and finding parking spots
We took the trolley twice and loved Sherry & Lynn! We recommend going early and taking the whole trip so you hear everything and get an idea of what you want to do. The presentation was goofy & lighthearted with fun music! You don't want to forget your jacket, though, because it's really breezy in a few spots. Save your sticker & get discounts at restaurants and museums. Ask your driver which ones before you get off.
The tour is free for San Diego County locals in January 2023 and the day I went was amazing. I highly recommend any of their tours if you want to see, hop on and off the main famous locations in San Diego m, of course it can’t be 100% comprehensive of everything our great city has to offer but you will get an awesome chance to see a lot, learn a lot, and better plan your time here!
The best trolley service EVER!! I have used this trolley service in San Diego, CA, Washington DC, St Augustine, FL and Savannah, GA. When I travel to New states, I always look for Old Town Trolley Tours because I know I am going to get a great value tour for my money. The San Diego tour was the latest and the drivers didn't let us down!! Kudos to everyone!!
I really enjoyed getting to know a little bit about San Diego this is a very crowded tour. I started off with a seat to myself, I stayed on the whole time by the end I had shared the side seat with five different people. At some point I couldn't really hear the guide well anymore so I just put my headphones in and enjoyed the ride.. One thing that I didn't like was how when I first came I was having a problem pulling up my coupon from Groupon and was asking the customer service representative if you know how and he came off a little snide saying that it's not a requirement that they would. I think it would be helpful and good customer service presentation to just be helpful and not be so dismissive. Otherwise it was a good tour I appreciate the driver for getting us where we need to be safely and appreciate the nice views.
Had fun on the night trolley tour. Little pricey, but a good choice for a female travelling solo to get the lay of the land at night before tromping through the downtown neighborhoods.Little Italy was particularly nice to ride through on the open air trolley during a busy Friday night. Fun to look at all the restaurants and el fresco dining. The view of the SD skyline from Coronado was also a treat.
Super Fun Tour, before you decide to book this, make sure you are willing to do this. It is a hop on and hop off experience. There is traffic, so pick up times and travel times may differ, they are not in control of that. Getting everything done in one day is impossible to I recommend getting the 2 day, although I'll be getting the 3 day next time. If you get Milo as your Driver, man he is very cool and fun. He went above and beyond to give my family the best experience. Overall this is a really cool thing to do, specially if you don't want to drive and deal with parking.
Third opportunity to take this awesome tour! This time, I brought my boyfriend! Our first driver was Benjamin, and we got off on Coronado Island. After hanging out on the island and getting some lunch, we hopped back on to have Captain Bob as our navigator. I have had the privilege of having Captain Bob before, and he's right on top of the history! That's what makes these tours so awesome: each time I obtain a different piece of knowledge! We rode to Old Town and adventured on our own for a bit. Once we re-boarded, we had Nico as our guide back to the Gaslamp Quarter. All three guides offered up superb historical information! This is turning into a habit when I visit San Diego, so I can say with certainty, "see you next time!"
Cool thing to do if you have the time. You're able to get off and back on as long as it's not the last one of the day which it was for us. It was on cause we didn't want to get off anyway. The driver was funny and informative, I learned a lot, I wasn't expecting that.
This was a fun and entertaining tour because we had a good tour guide named Dante. He was very knowledgeable and it made the tour exciting with the extra tidbits of information he shared. It takes a little over two hours, depending on if you stay on, but if you want to hop off at a stop, you can and take the next trolley since they run every 20 minutes. Vania who sold us the tickets was very nice and helpful.
THE TOUR IS ABSOLUTELY WORTH EVERY PENNY. Staff made a great effort to make our experience exciting, safe, fun and informative. We were a group of teens( four 18 yo and one 17 yo) in town for our senior trip. This was the best next safe alternative to taking an Uber around town. Barbie at stop C sold us our 2-day tickets and discounted San Diego Zoo tickets. She also gave us some amazing restaurant recommendations in Little Italy. We had the privilege of meeting 4 amazing drivers: Tommy, Howie, James and Chris. Each made sure that we knew absolutely everything about anything we saw along the tour, adding in some cheesy audio with Arnold Schwarzenegger and dad jokes during the tour. We used the service as advertised, to hop-on-and-off at any stop we please. During the final pick-up round of the day, the drivers went out of their way to drop us off at any stop we pleased even if it meant we were the only passengers on board. Thank you Old Town Trolley for making our trip such a blast. Looking forward to trying out the tours for other cities like Key West and Boston.
A great use of our San Diego city pass. The drivers were personable and informative. A great way to get an overview of the area and avoid having to navigate and park at each spot. The only way to make it better would be to have later hours.
This tour was very entertaining and fun! Our tour guide Goose was awesome! I was in San Diego for a few days and am so glad I took the tour on the Old Town Trolley. I highly recommend this tour. . We went to so many nice places but my favorite was Coronado.
Hop-0n,Hop-Off One day tour around San Diego. Lots of information and history given by the tour guides / drivers. A very nice way to go around the city and explore. Groups get 20% discount but you need to buy the tickets ahead of time.
We used Old Town Trolley to shuttle guests from our Rehearsal Dinner to our Welcome Drinks and they were absolutely fantastic. They were extremely easy to coordinate with, proactive in their communication with us and provided excellent shuttle service. The driver called me the night before to reconfirm all of the details and was right on time. She was flexible with us, as our rehearsal dinner ran a little long, but provided excellent service to get us to our next location. They were also an extremely affordable option!I would absolutely use Old Town Trolley again and would highly recommend them to anyone who needs a really fun way to shuttle family and friends around.
Awesome drivers, each with their own personal takes on history around the city. Bus makes stops at all the greatest places you'd want to visit while in San Diego. This is a highly recommended tour if you want to make sure you see everything, and can easily get to everything when visiting San Diego.
Old Town Trolley Tour is a great way to see and learn about San Diego in a 2 hour tour. Jack the tour guide from Trolley 63 was a rock star. He delivered awesome content and was very attentive to his passengers. If you are lucky enough to have him on your tour, you’ve won the lotto of the tour guides. Yes I’m bias but I’m sure the other guides are great as well. Anyway sit back, relax and enjoy yourselves. Well worth the price of admission. Also, please don’t forget to tip your Trolly guide.
We had a great time on the tour but being local to socal and within an hour drive we probably would have just went directly to our 2 stops (maritime museum and little Italy).I would highly suggest going for anyone out of town or not familiar with that area. Even though we have been down to SD at least a dozen times, we didn't know how amazing the maritime museum is! It was so worth it! Took almost 3 hours on the 1st of 12 stops! We took the 40 minute boat tour along with touring the ships. It was so amazing and detailed.
This is a great way to see and learn about San Diego and Coronado. We started at Old Town and got off at the first stop to walk along the marina and tour the USS Midway. We rejoined the tour and enjoyed all the information that our guide, Beth, gave. She was very enthusiastic and entertaining. I recommend this to anyone visiting, especially early in their trip, to get ideas of where they might like to spend more time.
I like taking the Old Town Trolley Tours. I have also taken the tour in a few other cities. I like how friendly the drivers are. They also share some history of the city. Being able to hop off at any of the stops and hop back on is a good idea. Trolleys come by about every 20 minutes. I live in San Diego and the tour company has a "Hometown Pass". A San Diego resident can go on the tour for free as long as they're with a full paying adult. I have been also able to go for free on the Seal Tour and the City Lights tour as well as the Hometown Trolley Tour.
Really enjoyed the Old Town Trolley Tour. We were in San Diego for just the weekend and the trolly gave us a great overview of many of the city's highlights. Coronado and Balboa park were two of our favorites. We will definitely try out other Hop On, Hop Off trolleys offered by your company. Thanks for a great time. Your drivers were knowledgeable, fun, courteous, and helpful!
Some drivers are better than others. But still a great way to see the city. I definitely would recommend doing this. I suggest early in your stay. That way you'll be able plan what you want to see.
This tour is so worth the time and money. I spent my last day in SD on this trolley tour. What a great way to see so much in such a small space of time.I got off at multiple stops and hopped back on 20, 40 minutes after. Some stops call hourly. But others are more frequent.Shout out to Jack, Scotty and Paul for their commentary. They kept us all smiling as we toured this beautiful city.Coronado Island was my personal favourite. But Old Town, Little Italy and the others are great too.Buy tickets online to get a saving. Bring change to tip your driver.
Old Town Trolley Tours added a fun and unique element to our wedding celebration. We used them for transportation from our wedding reception to afterparty. We worked with Jeanette for booking who was awesome, and Daniel did a great job as our trolley driver day of. Everyone we spoke to at the office was nice and helpful. I highly recommend Old Town Trolley as a cool alternative for wedding transportation.
Recommend if you’re first time visiting San Diego : visiting more place without hassle finding parking at popular places. Easy hop on hop off as there are 20 minutes between bus arrival each stopStart visiting Old Town before getting in the bus at 9:30am , there are many interesting place to visit at Old TownThen hop on tour bus at 9:30, spend a good time at each stop (11 stops)My favorite stop are San Diego port, Coronado, and Balboa park as there are many interesting things to check out, Balboa park will be the most interesting and time required to spend thereBe sure don’t miss the last pick up at 3:15pm or you have to catch a taxi back to Old Town
friendly and professional/helpful. great thing to do in any weather. affordable. easy to purchase tickets - face to face at embarcadero, online on the site or by phone!
An absolutely awesome way to see the city! I would suggest getting on the first trolley of the day to get a head start on your journey. Most of the stops on the tour you could spend half a day or a whole day visiting, so it's a great way to plan out your trip early on! The tour is very informative and a lot of fun. There is some "whitewashing" in the history portion of the tour, with no reference to the indigenous peoples that inhabited the area prior to the modern world. Overall would recommend for families and couples alike.
We booked A private trolley tour with a custom itinerary for a Family reunion in November. Everything was amazing, from the ease of booking with Jeanette and the energy and excitement of our driver Susie. It was a great way to keep the whole family (ages newborn to 82) together as we saw the lovely sights of San Diego. The trolley is so charming, I would highly recommend!
I rented one of their wedding trolleys for our La Jolla wedding and it was fantastic! Our driver, Jardel, was extremely professional, kind, and fun. Jeanette and Holly on the customer service team were the best to work with. They made this a very easy and fun process for me. Cannot recommend them enough. Made for such a fun surprise for our guests at our wedding.
What a great way to see the city. Loved it! The drivers are wonderfully sharing of information. Comfortable to go alone on if your friends want to do something else.
I took a group of 40 children on the Seals Tours. They absolutely loved it. They not only enjoyed the transition from the bus converting to a sailing device but the information about our city was a add-on to this tour. I would do it again with our next year's summer camp participants. Thank you, Jeanette for being so professional and helpful. We will be back next year!
Really enjoyed the benefit of being able to hop off and on all throughout the city and Coronado. Informative and friendly tour guides. And they loop around every 20 minutes. Very fun, convenient, and worth it. Best way to explore the city, would do it again and highly recommend.
Used old town trolley for our wedding day transportation. It arrive on time and everything went as smooth as can be. Susie was absolutely amazing! She went above and beyond (and more) to accommodate for some venue delays and was able to keep the bride happy and out of the know! (Even taking the scenic route to the venue, which turned out to make the bride’s day).Highly highly recommend! One of the best decisions we made for our special day. Again, Susie was awesome!!
I was hesitant to do such a “touristy” thing, but hey - we were tourists! Captain Milo gave us history, comedy, practical and fascinating facts as drove through San Diego. People hopped on and off throughout the tour with no complications. We went straight from our hotel to the stop and got off in Old Town before returning. I liked that I didn’t miss things as I would have driving my family around. We enjoyed going over the Coronado bridge!
I've taken the trolley twice now, and enjoyed every bit of it both times. All the drivers have very different personalities, but they all make the trip really fun and exciting. If you start at Old Town, you'll be pleased to know that there's free parking just on the other side of the street where the trolley picks up customers. During the summer, the trolleys are packed so plan to be there early, and be mindful of the last pick-up times in each destination. This is a great way to tour San Diego, and I would definitely do it again!
Went on this tour when I was there for a girls trip. It was so much fun and you learn so much about the city! def recommend. We had Capt. Bob for our tour guide and he was GREAT! So much fun and great jokes. Had the whole bus laughing the whole time. It is a hop on/hop off tour so if you see a place that they stop you want to enjoy and explore you may do so and just hop back on, on the next bus! really great experience. Will be doing it with my kids next time we go down for a vacation!
The best way to truly experience San Diego. Every driver has a unique personality that brings a certain magic to this tour, and has so many key drop points to explore and visit for 1 price! So worth the cost of under $40/per person for a full day ticket.
Highly recommended! Excellent experience for the whole family, came for a getaway from Arizona for a few days and decided to try this out. Everyone loved it, the guide was great and knowledgeable, beautiful views and overall a very memorable trip that we would definitely do again..
The go car ride was really fun and definitely recommend doing it if you’re visiting SD. We were looking forward to it and had a day planned with other activities, however even though we made our reservation two days in advance, we had to wait for an hour!! because they didn’t have any cars available. Definitely something they need to get control of. I understand people can walk in and rent them same day but people with reservations shouldn’t have to waste an hour waiting for others to return their cars.
Little pricey. Well worth it though! No matter what trolley, the driver is awesome. They provide interesting / factual information on the landmarks of SD. The trolleys stop every 30 min at the designated stop (they give you a map and they also tell you every stop). There are a about 5-10 stops throughout SD. Just pay attention where you got dropped off. I suggest to start earlier because every stop is a must see,I started late and wished I started earlier! The last trolley pick-ups are around 5/6pm. Would definitely to again.
Old Town Trolley provided our wedding transportation from ceremony to reception, and then from reception back to our two hotel blocks. Jeanette was a pleasure to work with; she was so helpful and responsive. They were flexible with their hours and it was also fun to have a local Trolley provide transportation, as most of our wedding guests were from out of town! I highly recommend them for any of you shuttling service needs!
A great way to see the highlights of San Diego. Drivers were friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely do the tour again when we bring other friends and family to San Diego.
Worth every penny, #1 best way to see San Diego!! A must for all visitors, open air trolley cars, so you can see everything. Free parking at Old Town station. My family is visiting from Chicago next week. Already booked our tour!!Locals ride free, w/paid visitors. Hop on/off at any/every stop, very knowledgeable guides...for the 25 miles of entertainment! Wear a light jacket, gets windy when going over Coronado Bridge! Breathtaking view of the Bay, Mexico border, downtown skyline, Navy ships, etc. You get up close, personal view of SD, my hometown and America's Finest City!! Get your discounted tickets at the Visitors Center today...
Good way to get around San Diego and see what it has to offer. Easy to find since there’s several locations you can board from all over city. We will be back to ride
James is the best & funniest tour guide! Make sure you get on a trolley with him for the best experience. Perfect for seeing all the greatest views of San Diego, learn about the history, and hear some entertaining jokes and stories along the way! Highly recommend and you can fill your whole day hopping on and off the trolley to experience all the best parts of San Diego.
Great tour with lots of great information. The conductors are very friendly and helpful. You can make a day of it by starting your tour early in the morning and getting off at the different stops. Last tour departs Old Town at 3pm. Have fun!
Great way to see all the highlights of San Diego. Hop on hop off, start early because you will need plenty of time to see, and visit everywhere. Wear your most comfortable shoes. The Narrator, Vinny, was awesome!
A bit unorganized. App is very glitchy. The day before I was supposed to go I called and they told me to be at the stop at 9 in the morning and they will sell me tickets before heading out at 9:30. I get there at 9:15 no one‘s there 925 still no one so then I call the main number and then she tells me that somebody will be there. I tell her that I need to purchase a ticket and she says that I won’t be able to purchase it at that stop but she can help me out over the phone. Since I did the night tour before hand I was told I would get a $10 discount, The sales rep tells me that that won’t apply and I will only get a partial discount. What a scam! DO NOT DO THE NIGHT TOUR! City Lights, or something like that. They zoom by places and you can’t even see what you are supposed to see. Furthermore I didn’t see the city lights they more or less just showed me the daytime attractions but again it’s dark I thought they will be lit up. Waste of money and time.
Great tour! Wonderful, caring staff! I left a package on the tour bus. As well as losing a hearing aid. The customer service staff went out of their way to help me retrieve both items. Guides Jack and Rodney were super funny and engaging. Had a great time!
We live in San Diego and yet this was the first time we've ever done this tour.We were staying downtown for a function and decided the Trolley would be a great way to spend our Sunday. Our driver RODGER was amazing and the Covid-19 precautions that have been implemented made us feel very safe. We'll definitely be back onboard soon!
A great way to get a guided tour of the city. You hop off and on and see the sights that you're most interested in. You can't possibly see it all in one day, but this gives you a preview and you can drive back and spend more time in the areas that interest you the most.
Great way to see the city in a short period. You can jump off where you want to explore more. Even with limited seating due to Covid did not have any trouble getting back on a Trolley. Being a new traveller to SD this was a perfect introduction. Definitely worth the money. And you also get history and trivia from the drivers along the way.
Such a fun way to see San Diego! The conductors are fun, the views are beautiful and the unlimited boarding for the full day is so convenient. There's plenty of time to spend at each stop, or you can just ride and look at the city. We will absolutely do another tour when we're back in town.
Tour lasted about two hours, was originally trying to do the Beach tour but that’s suspended til further notice. Would have been very appreciated if this information was posted on the site prior to purchasing the tickets. My friend and I planned to get off the hop on/off bus to walk around but it seemed that the day we went, they had sold too many tickets. We just sat through the whole ride so we were able to get back. Many people were waiting at the stops to be picked up for at least an hour in almost 110 degree weather.
Monday August 17 2020 bought 2 Tickets for the San Diego Trolley Tour.I feel they have reopened too soon.I called in advance before I purchased my tickets.I asked the employee if we took the tour would the businesses on the tour be open and would there be anything to do considering this Covid situation. He said yes, lots of the businesses were now open. This was far from the truth.I spent almost $100 on tickets for 2.You can go to Coronado Beach and eat off a food truck (that's their restaurant right now), there are lots of restaurants open if you want to eat outside on the street but it was a hot and humid day. Only a few shops were open in Old town. The Zoo was open but you have to pay the entrance fee and that would be a thing to do when you have a whole day.I feel the employee should have been truthful with me and let me decide if that was worth it. The driver pointed out many featured places to go and see but are not yet open still because of Covid closures. I complained to a gentleman at the ticket counter when we returned from the tour. He didn't feel it was that big of a deal.I drove my car 2 hours to get here and spent almost $100.of my hard earned dollars when I could have driven myself to the beach for free.I would not recommend you take this tour at this time unless they lower the price to half until the businesses, museums Etc.. reopen.
Our guide Jardel was terrible. He did not enforce passengers to wear masks. A passenger had to tell 2 other passengers to put their masks back on. Jardel did not prevent a passenger from Vaping. A family boarded the tour at Balboa park. A few minutes later the child started screaming and never quit screamin until they got off the tour bus in Little Italy. Our guide got mad at me because I asked to have someone get the kid to stop screaming. The guide told me to stop commenting on the distraction and it was ok because the kid was a child. I did not pay $40.00 nor did the other passengers pay to hear a kid scream non stop.We did not get a guided tour. Instead we had to endure a out of control kid SCREAMING.

We had a GREAT TIME on the tour. Saw sites we would not have seen otherwise learned so much about San Diego that we would have NEVER known. WELL WELL worth the time and money.
Fantastic way to get to know San Diego! Great narrative of the history and little known facts and stories. Thank you "Zoo Man"! You truly were the best!
I purchased our tickets online at a slight discount, so that helped. I recommend taking this tour pretty early on in your trip. It will expose you to many different areas of SD, and then pick out areas you would like to focus more time on later. The drivers were all good. Everyone had their own style of delivering the information, but they all had interesting little nuggets. The trolleys were clean and fairly new. The hop on hop off feature is great. You can use it as Transportation, more so if you had the two day pass ( we did not ). The ride over the Coronado bridge brought up the pucker factor because the trolley is basically open air and it gets windy up there. Beautiful views!
Absolutely the BEST WAY to Tour San Diego! Great driver/guides! We Really Liked It! A Wonderful way to spend the day! No worries about driving or parking. I Highly Recommend it!
Can we go ahead and give the trolley 10 stars? All the drivers were AMAZING. And each stop on the trip was an adventure on it's own. Each location can very easily be it's own day trip. A few of the more popular locations can be a bit of a wait if the trolley fills up (Cornado and Balboa Park). But I think the company sent an extra trolley for those that had to wait.
We took the tour from seaport if you used them before keep your tickets as you get $10 discount on your tourGreat tour 10 stops. The driver BOXCAR was the BEST you can ever have so funny and entertaining. The tour is a bit over 2 hours but you can hop on and off and can be a whole day thing The last bus departs at 5P from Old town or Coronado island it is $42 all worth it
2 hrs if you don’t get off. Otherwise, make an entire day of the hop-on, hop-off tour with 10 different stops in San Diego and Coronado. You may hop on and off at any one of our convenient stops throughout the entire day. Depending on your start time, you may also use your ticket to enjoy your tour in segments by hopping off at one or two of our distinctive stops on the loop. The number of stops you can explore in one day depends on the time of year that you are touring and the amount of time you have on the day of your tour.
QHow often do trolleys come to each stop?
Our trolleys come by approximately every 15-20 minutes. Times may vary slightly due to traffic conditions and city events. Depending on demand, the time of year, day of the week, and time of day, our in-field dispatchers often put more trolleys in the tour loop at an increased frequency. We are San Diego’s most popular tour, and during peak times, we cannot guarantee that each trolley will have available seats.
QAre food and drinks allowed while on the tour
Food and drinks are welcome. However alcoholic beverages are not allowed under any circumstance for the safety and comfort of all of our guests.
