For the west coast’s oldest sportfishing company come over to H & M Landing. They offer a range of fishing packages, from half-day excursions to three-day trips and more. So don’t let your big chance to have a great time fishing getaway!
Some people, when they think of fishing, picture a hat-wearing old-timer sitting in his wooden boat holding his fishing pole loosely in his hands while he waits for a catfish to take the bait. Here in San Diego, fishing is an active sport! You’ll head out over open ocean water, angling for halibut, barracuda, yellowtail, sand bass, calico bass, bonito, and even tuna! It’s a lively adventure for the whole family!
This experience has been a forever memory! My husband and I have fished lakes, streams, and even ice fished but never... ocean fished !!!The crew was amazing!!! Brandon the captain of his ship for 11 years met us as we came aboard and Daniel the excellent deck hand who was right behind ever catch helping you and guiding you every step of the way. You will get a quick fishing lesson in the beginning. Pay attention! As we caught the fish Daniel would unhook them and bag them. End of the day he will fillet them up for you ready for the grill.Brian your chef for the day also helps updock when needed but his skills on the grill are amazing. .He even gave me a special request since we were not able to keep our haul ,Brian made me up a plate of my delicious bass so I could enjoy a taste of my catch. The rest was donated through the other fisherman. This day we celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary.I highly recommend Brandon as your captain and Daniel your deck hand and Brian the excellent Chef!read more

Our family fishing trip on the "Premier," which included me, my wife, son, and daughter, started out great--the weather... was perfect, the boat was not too crowded, the people were friendly, the captain and his deckhands were doing a fine job, and we were on the fish. In fact, we caught a total of twenty-two (22) nice-sized keepers. Unfortunately, nearing the end of the trip, one of the deckhands ("Chris") became unfriendly and began acting somewhat confrontational. Assuming the captain might want to know about this, I shared Chris' behavior with one of the other, more friendly deckhands. He apologized for Chris' behavior and said he would inform the captain. The remainder of the trip was unremarkable. When we landed and went to retrieve our two (2) very large bags of fish, however, we were informed that our fish was missing--that our fish must have been given to another passenger by mistake. As a substitute, we were offered two other, much smaller, unknown bags of fish, which was simply not acceptable. The captain advised that there was nothing more he could or would do, and that we would not receive a refund for the cost of the trip. After careful consideration of all that occurred, including the comments and demeanor of the captain and deckhands, coupled with my own thirty-five plus (35+) years of sport-fishing experience, it seems clear to me that our fish did not disappear by mistake. It is also clear to me that our next thirty-five (35) years of sport-fishing probably won't be out of H & M Landing.read more
These guys rock. I went in to ask what’s working and they put me on the newest knife jig and we got 2, huge tuna and... got sawed off on a third bite by another guy that got wrapped up in our fish.read more
Excalibur SportfishingYour reviewsH & M LandingSan Diego, CaliforniaGot the Shaft from Taft!August 2023Went on... a 3 day turned into 1 and half day for the price of a 3 day. With a $50 fuel surcharge no partial refund.Got the shaft from old Chuckie Taft! No reason given why we came in early. The other two boats owned by Chuck The Jig Strike and The Legend finished their trips out.Never got to know any of the crew members names unless you asked them. Garner the cook yelled at everybody for not eating their food quick enough and the food was pretty bad, except for the breakfast burrito. Nice bunks good fishing platform, when you get to fish it. We were given a 50% percent voucher on our next trip good for one year. I have no desire to ever set foot on any boat that is affiliated with Chuck Taft. Go to Fishermen's Landing or Seaforth Sportfishing much better operationsread more

2 of us. Just returned from a 1.5 day fishing trip on the Grande. Never have I ever seen anything like this. I will... have to say for the money $400+ per ticket. 3 fish on the whole boat with 28 anglers is not acceptable. What a waste! We pay good money for the staff to put us on the fish and to top it off. No concessions no apologies. Just a hope to see you again.read more
