We had an amazing time, went together with our friends. And, although our boat had issues and wasn’t as fast as the other boats and stalled on us twice. It still was an awesome fun time, Tiffany was very nice checking us in and Jeremy our guide was fun and knowledgeable and just the feel of out on the sea was awesome great time definitely going back!!!!

This was a great experience! Even if you have no prior experience driving a boat, you will be okay. Our captain was Captain David, and he was great! Loved his energy, the stories, guidance and reassurance throughout the trip. I would recommend coming here as a date or just for fun. It was amazing to be out on the water in places you see only from the shore line. We will be coming back or buying a boat now lolMy only recommendation to Speed Boat Adventures, and con for us customers, would be the parking. In the email it is very well expressed where to park and to be at the meet up location at least 15min prior to launch time. However, from what I was told, by staff member, the parking lot that the business(es) use there is almost always closed for events on weekends; leaving this location to park unavailable. You are subjected to the hotel or street parking only. There is also more public parking just pass the Sheraton on the left, however the day we went (8/24/24) it was also closed to the public, due to an event. We ended up getting lucky and got street parking very close to facility. I would recommend leaving early to be able to look for parking. My recommendation to Speed Boat Adventures, is to add in the email that this parking lot is almost always closed to the public for events-on the weekends, and may not be a viable option to use for parking.Pros: Great experience, boat speakers are loud and clear so you able to hear Captain communication out on the water fairly easily, boat easy to drive, you get up close to many sight seeing structures, but from the water-like the Midway.Cons: parking situation, steering wheel on boat was stiff so you get a work out on your arm, waves that you hit can be hard on your bottom (=

Had trouble figuring out where the meet up spot was at but it’s downstairs by the Amazon lockers! It worked out though because I arrived right on time so definitely not a big deal! The staff was absolutely friendly, our tour guide was funny & explained how to use the speedboats safely. There’s a built in speaker so the tour guide is talking throughout the tour. I will absolutely come back and already recommended friends to experience speedboat ! This is your sign to do it!!

I’ve lived in San Diego for 36 years and I’ve never done this… Never knew what I was missing out on. This was one of the best if not the best touristy travely awesome thing you can do in San Diego. Being able to drive your own speedboat at 25 to 30+ miles per hour was awesome. You get to see all the best things in the harbor. Me and my buddy were laughing our butts off. Definitely give this a try. Captain David was the best.

Love this!! Tour guide “Sunny” was awesome and he was very patient. Wished the tour was longer and we didn’t have folks that didn’t pay attention because it ate up our time. It’s definitely worth trying out but the price was high for the time limit you get in the speed boat!

When we arrived at the speedboat location and checked in, our guide was waiting for us and ready to go. He suited us up in vests and then gave us a detailed orientation on how to use the speedboats. After we got out of the quiet zone, we were at top speed! He paused enough time for us to change drivers and also gave us brief lessons/information on the local top spots which included information about the Navy vessels, the historic vessels and some of the wildlife. Our tour guide did a great job in encouraging us and keeping us together as well as giving us our independent time to feel comfortable in the water. I would highly recommend this speed adventure!

This was my second time on this tour snd just as great as the first. One of the best things to do while you are in San Diego. Seeing the sea lions, going under the midway, and cruising the channel was so much fun. Thank you guys, we will be back

This was so much fun . Got to see seals up close and boat underneath the large Midway ship. Great tour for entertaining 2 teenagers. Would definitely do it again! Keegan our guide gave the perfect mix of tour and fun.

My wife and I had an awesome time. I have never driven a boat in my life, but the guide made it easy to follow along. We appreciated that there was a mix of times to both sight see and really get the speed boat experience. We already talked about doing it again when we come back for vacay.

Ours was the first outing of the day and, despite what you might think, you really don't get wet in these boats. Yes, you'll occasionally catch some spray to the face on some of the bigger "hits", but that's about it. Our guide, Jeremy, was awesome. Very laid back, friendly and knowledgeable. Bit of a kidder, too. 😉 The boats are dead simple to operate and not stupidly powerful. If you can drive a car, you can operate these boats. You'll do everything from moving at a crawl to high speed runs; maybe even a little silly fun on the way back.Will say that one huge advantage to being the first group, on a Tuesday morning, would be that it was just us, Jeremy and another boat. Made things really easy for him and stress free for all of us. Seeing the Midway up close and personal, after having toured it the previous day, was really cool. We were also extremely lucky and happened to see a pod of dolphins! Honestly, that was the icing on the cake for a terrific morning out!

Fantastic and unique way to take a harbor tour by getting to drive a speedboat yourself. SO much more fun than your standard tours. Our guide was great and provided clear instructions on how to operate the speedboat before we left plus he keeps an eye on you if you need help. Will definitely do this again on future visits to San Diego!

We did a mother/daughter trip to San Diego. We were only going for five days so decided one of our things we wanted to do was the powerboat tour. Amazing time with a great guide seeing the sights on the water. We had a blast! I would highly recommend this tour on the San Diego Bay.

This is a must! The boats go about 25 Knotts (30 mph) you are out for about 1.5 hours. You go around corando island and see sea lions. Then to some ships! After that donuts and big bags. Dave is aweso.e and made the entire expirence. Please do this! You won't regret it

David was our tour guide for speed boats. We definitely recommend him he was informative, funny, and engaging. We loved the route he took us on. We especially loved the free time at the end to drive the speed boats however we pleased. David made sure we knew all the safety precautions to take. This let me fully let loose on the water. Easy to book and pay with the company.

We have done the Speedboat Adventure twice now and enjoyed it each time! It’s an incredible experience and memory to be able to explore the port of SD on a speedboat. I love that it’s a tour BUT we get to have fun at the same time. You’ll see incredible sights and won’t regret it.Great family or date night idea. The guide made sure to communicate clearly through the walkie, and always made sure we were and felt safe. Never thought I’d ever drive a boat of any kind in a life time, but I’ve done it twice now with Speedboat Adventures!

What an amazing and awesome experience! This is not just a tourist event. I live in San Diego and I had so much fun even though I have been to all these locations. Driving through with this little car was so much more exhilarating! Staff was very friendly and helpful!

Took my partner out for her birthday and she loved it! The boat ran great, David was an excellent guide and made sure the group understood all the safety things we needed to know. The tour was informative but also light, we got to see some local wildlife, and most importantly we got to speed through the water. The boats were easy to operate after a couple minutes of getting the hang of it, and although it occasionally gets bumpy when you hit some of the "waves" made by other boats, you have total control over how aggressively you want to drive. One note of recommendation is to bring Sunglasses or eye protection, and also secure your loose items/jackets/hats, as there's a lot of wind when you're driving fast.10/10 would recommend and also bring friends back here. My girlfriend was ecstatic once we were done with the tour!

Fantastic tour by speedboat! Way better than expected!! The narrated tour was excellent- we got to see lots of great sights up close and away from the crowds! Hitting the waves was a blast!! Really recommend this but especially if you have limited time in SD to see sights!! David was a super tour guide and speed boat momma duck!! ?

Amazing experience from beginning to end! I called a new weeks in advance, and Tiffany was super helpful and kind in helping me schedule a tour. We had a small window of availability, and she did her best to accommodate. Beyond thankful for her patience and understanding. The tour itself was super fun. Captain David was awesome. Very funny and knowledgeable. He provided clear instructions too, and we felt very confident. Being able to drive the boat yourself and control the speed is a lot more engaging. At the end, we had some time to whip around the water. Highly recommend!

This experience was better than expected. Captain David was excellent. The tour was great and really cool to know all of the great things in the bay at San Diego. Though I'm an experienced swimmer, if you are not and haven't been exposed to the water much, this is probably one of the safest places to try out speed boating. You have a guide and US Coast guard and Navy nearby. Totally worth the experience whether you are a newbie or experienced on the water!!!!

It was a lot of fun. Scared for my life a few times with the giant wake and boat lunches out of the water. But, made it back safe thanks to our guide who was funny, informative, and all around a good tour guide. I will suggest friends to do this too. Just early in the morning before the big boats cause crazy water conditions.

Came here for a bachelor party, and was running a few minutes late. They called us and let us know they were going to wait for us and we are glad they did. This was probably the most fun thing our group did on our trip and everyone loved it! Definitely recommend!!!

If you’re looking for an adventure this is tough to beat. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, funny, experienced and kept the group on pace for many sights in the harbor. We went fast but not too fast. Bonus points for seeing seals up close. Highly recommend!

Real fun to drive the speed boat (and definitely speed across the waves). Our tour guide David is very informative as well, introducing to those marine animals, boats, yachts, and the cool aircraft carrier. The sea surface might get foggy sometimes, but other than that it’s really an amazing experience. Absolutely enjoyed it!

Had such a good time on the Speed boat adventure! It’s around 1 and a half hour around San Diego bay, they teach you everything about the boat and then you drive around the bay, you can go really fast!! Instructor is always checking on you!

This is probably one of the coolest activities you can do in San Diego. Such a fun thrill ride. We apparently only went 35mph but it feels like 100mph on the open water. My boyfriend and I took turns driving. The tour part was great, we got to see the city and cool sites where we got to stop and take some photos. We were making good time so at the end we had a little time to go off on our own. We went on a Monday morning and the water was still not a lot of movement or boats around. I highly recommend this experience to literally everyone.

Stumbled across this village on our walk from the zoo to the park because colorful stones caught our eye. We spent a good amount of time looking through the studios and speaking to the artists. Definitely a cool place to check out and get some original art

He did a great job at making us feel comfortable enough to drive the boats and was super funny and knowledgeable about everything. If you are down in San Diego we definitely recommend making time for speed boat adventures!!

Had. A blast! Definitely a great thing to do if you have a free afternoon. Was a little hard to find the place since they're doing renovations to the main building and don't really have signs anywhere telling you where to go. So just follow the other people who are lost. But the guide was super fun and made the instructions really easy. The boats are definitely super simple to run and the water was decently smooth for the duration of the trip a few big waves. So definitely be prepared to hold on and go on a bumpy ride. But you don't really get wet so swimming attire isn't necessary. Would definitely recommend going again. Parking is a little confusing as they are renovating the whole area. So if you can find street parking or use the parking lot a quarter mile away, that's probably your best bet. Also, we stopped at a few of the local landmarks and had a brief history on everything so that was a very nice addition. We also paired it with the scooter rentals and that was definitely a great call. Loved it! Definitely made the experience easy

This was an awesome experience. Our tour guide seemed liked he was enjoying taking us around to the different sights of San Diego. He gave us breaks to take pictures. It was pretty simple operating the speed boat. We will definitely be back to go again.

AMAZING TRIP!! Took my boyfriend for his birthday and we both LOVED it!! The waters do get rough in places, so beware of the high jumps and harsh landings back in water. Our tour guide Craig was AMAZING and a cool dude !! Definitely recommend for some up close sight seeing !!

Brought my 5 year old daughter out to San Diego and out of everything we did (Zoo, SeaWorld, Sesame Place, Belmont Park, Zoo, and the Beach) she said this was her favorite park. Kyle was the one leading the way on this tour and was great! Very detailed instructions and boat is easy to control even if it's your first time. Pay a little extra for the go pro video it has great quality and worth it. Will definitely do this again, Thank you guys for this experience.

What a great way to see the bay! The staff is super friendly which makes the whole process easy. Instructions are clear, and very important to listen to for your own safety because these boats are fast! Bring sunglasses because the wind in your face at full throttle is intense. The boats have planning hulls and once they are up you skin the tops of the waves at 30mph. The only draw back is that you can only go as fast as the person in front of you while on the guided tour. All in all this was one of the best events of my week long visit to San Diego, I strongly recommend trying it out.

When we booked the speed boat tour, we had no idea we would actually be driving the boat! I was so scared and nervous to go through with it, but my friend convinced me we could do it. We showed up and met our guide Kyle and the other people who booked the tour. Kyle was pleasant and knowledgeable. He went over the rules with us thoroughly and answered all of our questions. He was patient and made sure we all felt safe before and during the trip. We had a blast driving the boat, and we can’t wait to do it again!! One of the best parts of our trip. Thank you Kyle!

Such a fun adventurous experience! You get an actual one hour of ride time in san diego bay with the instructor. The first 30 minutes is for prepping and instructions and last 30 minutes is for getting the boat back to the dock area.

Was a fun experience to see the bay, and our tour guide was a great guy. I was having doubts about booking the tour because I’m a large guy (6’7” 250lbs) but had no problem fitting in the boats and it was pretty comfortable. My girlfriend was nervous to drive a boat for the first time but with our guide he made sure she was safe and comfortable operating the vessel. We got to see some seals and other wildlife on the tour as well. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting San Diego for the first time

For what it's worth, I'll say it was good. I glad a good time with my girlfriend. We got to see many points of interest such as ships, statues, buildings and monuments. The people at the desk were very nice and knowledgeable. The only reason I don't give it a 5 star rating is because the car we were put in was very loud and uncomfortable but what do you expect right?

This was such a thrilling experience! You get a chance to switch partners giving both individuals a chance to try it out! It’s such a fun way to explore the Marina! They show you around a few spots! Loved this experience, a must do while you’re in San Diego!

This was a surprise gift to my husband on our honeymoon and it was perfect! Our guide drew was so funny and knowledgeable of the sights. He maintained a great personality with it all, there was a small issue with one of the boats on the tour but he was a pro and took care of it perfectly and we all still had a blast! The sights and the water and the service was perfection we were very happy with it all! Thank you drew so much for a memorable experience!

The speed boat tour was fun. The reason I am only giving it 2 stars is because we purchased the upgraded HP package but that did not give us anything better. We had a faster boat but that didn't not allow us to go any faster than the slower boat in front of us. In fact, we spent a lot of time having to slow down so we wouldn't hit the boat in front of us. It just wasn't worth the money .

Fun experience, we had captain Dave as our guide. He gave us instruction on how to operate our boat, what to expect from boat traffic, and how to handle right of way. We felt safe with him. We had Go Passes; booking our reservation was easy. We recommend doing this attraction.

We own a boat and have access to lakes, rivers and the Gulf of Mexico, so to give this review, you'll have some context. I'm a mom and brought my teenage son and daughter. I felt safe and protected. Everything was explained very well. With that said, they didn't micromanage the fun out of the experience. We had a great time cruising the bay, seeing the wildlife up close, and getting that close on the water to a real battleship! This is well worth your time and money. Definitely glad we chose this one.

We went on the speed boat tour for a 9am tour. It was so much fun!! Our tour was with Dave, and he was awesome! I have never drove a boat before so was very nervous. He helped talked me through everything we needed to do. He was very knowledgeable and made it fun. Would definitely recommend going! We saw a few sea lions while out as well!

My wife and I came here to celebrate our 10th anniversary! Needless to say, I was not disappointed. The boat was well maintained and the tour guide was awesome! It was a fun little scenic tour around the Bay. You did get the opportunity to go fast on occasion but were required to match the speed of the boat in front of you, that was probably the only downside. For the most part, we had a blast! The next time we are in San Diego we will for sure do this again. My consumer rating A+

There's just something about getting out and so close to the water while yet still staying dry! And once those little boats get up to speed.... whoosh; "Whatta rush"!!!We Loved it! We booked a last minute speedboat adventure in San Diego & had to pay for the upgraded boat since all the others were rented. Let me tell you absolutely worth it!! Our boat was the fastest (said 50hp & others were 30hp) and our tour guide Captain Dave was a pleasure to lead us all through the bay. Unfortunately our radio was not hooked up properly so we missed the 1st 30 minutes of tour details & him describing what we were seeing - but we sped up next to him & he fixed it right away for us out on the water. And just so happens I met the owner Chris through a friend and he comped our goPro & gave us both free t-shirts! If you like being on the water & seeing all the sites from a different view (plus fooling around on a speed boat in open water) I would 100% book this tour! It lasted about 2 hours & I have phenomenal pictures of the San Diego downtown skyline & all the amazing places we saw. Keep up the great work guys & thanks again Chris for hooking us up!

Had a really great time boats were fast. I went at 5pm, was chilly as expected but overall It was fun and Capitan David was awesome. He interacted with everyone, would say jokes and was extremely knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend trying it out.

Me and my boyfriend had so much fun doing this. It's something that you should really do when you're gonna do vacation in San Diego. The tour and the views are just so perfect, the tour guide was so funny that you actually enjoy listening to him, there was no boring moment and everyone with us had so much fun, me and my bf even switch in driving, the tour guide let us do it so we noth actually were able to experience driving

The host of this tour was great. Loved him he made this experience really fun but the boat itself was pretty boring. I thought I’d be more fun than jet ski but it really wasn’t. Just so you know before you go, ITS A TOUR ! You don’t go by yourself and if you get pretty slow people in your group don’t expect to go fast or anything. You are going to have to wait for them to catch up.

This was a BLAST and the crew was so nice and accommodating, they worked with us even after a little mistake had occurred... in which they could have made the outcome sad for us... but they worked with us and got us in a boat and in the tour! And it was appreciated! Really fun! Recommend highly!

First-timer and had a blast especially with our captain. Not sure his name but he was great and definitely made this experience one for the books. (Captain did the 11am session on 2/21/21) we even tipped him because he was great on giving us a tour.

I’m from San Diego and I loved this tour. It was so fun to sail on the water and see the sights. Captain John was professional and informative. He kept us safe and entertained as we sail around the bay. The spots and photo ops were perfect and we have lots to look back on from this amazing tour. We will be doing this again soon. Thank you!!

I planned this for my boyfriend's birthday and it was an amazing adventure. The boat is simple to drive and the instructor/tour guide will go over everything u need to know. It was the best way to spend our day and see the Harbor in a different way. Our tour guide was very friendly and professional. Bring some cash for tip later to show them you appreciate them.This was a great thing to do during Covid since we were in our own boat and kept a distance from other groups.

It was great to get out on the water and visit the points of interest with a knowledgeable guide. I was worried that this would feel like a nose-to-tail horseback trail ride. NOT-AT-ALL. So you follow in the wake of the guide. It makes no difference except to give you the confidence that you are going in the right direction. Then, when you hit a point of interest, BAM...you get all the info you need. Reminds me of a cycle tour of other cities. Very informative and out there, active participation. Totally exceeded expectations.

Such a fun unique way to see the city. Got some beautiful pictures all while seeing the sights and hearing fun facts from our amazing tour guide! Even got to see some sea lions! Would recommend to anyone! So fun and must do.

Such a fun outing! You tour in your own small boat follow-the-leader style. It was a great time on the water and our boat leader was knowledgeable and friendly. TIP: Be sure to arrive early so you don't hold up your group start time.

Captain Scott is more than amazing! We lucked out and were the only ones scheduled in our time slot, Such a personalized tour! We laughed, we had so much fun, and saw AMAZING sites from sea lion's, and up close and personal to the USS Midway. We will recommend this to anyone! We're coming back with our whole family for some more fun!

Where to start off...when arriving they called to make sure we got to the place. Our tour guide Caleb was awesome!!! A1 quality. Dude was attentive, had patience, and also had a great sense of humor. Will definitely try it again when coming back to Diego.

The atmosphere was welcoming and warm. Our guide Scott was personable, but professional. He directed us in all safety procedures and invited us to visit the wonderful cafe on the premises. Despite the initial hilarity of watching the guide, Geronimo, save one of our party from being stuck in a perpetual doughnut turn in their boat, the time on the water was amazing. It was great to be able to see all those sites from the ocean and the enjoyment of steering your own speed boat back and forth on the water was thrilling. Overall it was worth every penny and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone interested.

My boyfriend and I came here for the first time and it was awesome ! We had so much fun. The only reason i am giving it 4 out of 5 stars , is due to the crew being a little unorganized as well as starting our adventure late, which took from our time on the water. Other than that really fun and cool experience !

It was a lot of fun. I got the 2 person boat for my son and I. I got to drive for half and then we switched and he drove the other half. He had a blast. I will be booking another trip soon for my wife and I. If your in San Diego definitely check it out.

Captain Scott was incredible! Really fun, funny, and knowledgeable. He was knowledgeable about the area but the water as well. Being a boater, I was a little worried about inexperienced people being on the water but Captain Scott did a great job educating everyone on the basics of water safety and was clearly watching out on the water for other people and picking the safest areas and times to go FAST and actually have a blast!! He was the perfect “Papa Duck”.As for the tour itself, we went to several different places, got to see the USS Midway up close and personal, got to see dozens of sea lions, and our course got to drive our own personal little speed boat!!! I don’t remember if there’s options but I wouldn’t do anything less than a 2 hour tour (if it’s an option). You don’t get too wet but you are on the water, so bathing suit and appropriate over clothes and sun screen would be perfect. I wouldn’t bring anything big, there’s not a lot of room for big bags and definitely not small items that aren’t on your body (if you want to keep them in the boat). I brought my keys, a water bottle, and my phone/wallet (which second person in the boat held onto). Totally worth the money, can’t wait to go again soon!!! Thank you Scott!!!!!

Great ride, had awesome time. For $150 you cannot do better. Only negative - some chicks in front of us couldn’t get their grip on it, almost hit a ship, then rocks. Didn’t feel safe with them behind us. This slowed down the ride of the whole group, but still, 5 stars

We had a great time with our awesome guide John! He was really funny and shared a lot of great facts about San Diego. The only things we would change is that we got a late start because some members of our tour group were late. Also we had to go slow at some points because of how some people were driving their boats. It would be neat if there could be private tours where you could actually go fast the whole trip with the guide.

I booked a boat ride for myself and family. My son was with me and my 6yr old daughter went with dad. I was so nervous at first never driven a boat or been out that far into the bay. Let me tell you we had the most amazing time my daughter loved it even when the ride got super bumpy seemed to be when we had the most fun. The tour guy was amazing made it simple not to much to know just follow boat ahead and made us feel safe ! Worth the money definitely recommend

Had a great time on the boat tour. Boats were really easy to operate. Instructors were very informative and Helpful. It was hard to hear at times on the walkie when we were going fast, but overall it was a 5 star day. Highly recommend this tour if your in San Diego.

Beware!! Scam alert!! Please be advised that the 2 hour boat ride they advertise is actually about an hour if you’re lucky. I asked our guide why we finished in an hour and he said “ well we say two hours for you to prepare for that”. Huh?? I asked the lady at the front desk which by the way when I first came in to the office, I told her I was here for my reservation she then says, “ and do you have a question?!” Yes I do, I don’t know what to do or where to go. Thanks for your attitude. She is miserable behind her desk and you won’t get much help from her. So disappointed with this tour. It is not 2 hours, and customer service is bad bad bad.

What an incredible morning we had for my wife’s birthday, with our tour guide Captain Scott. Two hour tour (about 90 mins on the water) and you are in total control. Think of it like horseback riding on speedboats.On the tour you get to open it up full throttle and chop through the waves, passing Navy Vessels and the San Diego skyline. Highlights, besides the speed, was passing the USS Lincoln aircraft carrier, seeing live sea lions play in your boat wake, driving right next to and under the USS Midway, and our guide Scott.We were lucky enough to have the tour all to ourselves at 11:00am on a Monday and Scott was awesome and personal. He made us feel comfortable and capable and driving the speedboats is easy no matter your experience level. Amazing day on the water and money completely well spent!Tips: 1. You do NOT get wet so don’t worry about that, dress for weather. 2. Bring cash for a tip (Scott deserves it in these times) 3. Sunscreen on hot days there is no shade unless you count the Midway!

Scott was great!! Good conversation and very professional. At first it seemed scary because I'm not an avid boater. As the tour continued I became excited to see the next wake and bounce through it!! Overall damn good experience and I would recommend it to anyone!!

First off, I had trouble on the website and Chris was quick to respond to my email and help me out.This adventure was exactly as advertised. Our guide Scott let us know before we left the dock what to expect, what the water was going to be like, and how to maneuver the boat during choppy waters. We had a great time and would definitely book another adventure with this company.

Super fun experience! Had a private tour with Scott because we were the only ones who were scheduled. Would definitely recommend. A really unique experience. It’s more of a fun speed adventure than a tour of the bay which I honestly liked.

Loved driving the speed boats! Scott was a super nice, knowledgeable guy. I love speed so this was an unforgettable experience. I would want to come back for the summer and do this again. The check in process was easy and Scott’s guidance when in the water was super easy and fun. Loved it!!!!

Really awesome adventure. You get to see the USS Midway and the nautical museum from the outside looking in. The bait barge was a cool stop as well. Really fun zipping around the bay while the naval base has helicopters and planes flying above. Totally recommend and am looking into checking out their Tampa facility.

Once you walk there, you feel away from LA and in a total different country.The shops are very particular and you can find unique things.Walking around is pleasant and relaxing.
