Kobey’s Swap Meet started in 1976 at the old Midway Drive-In Theater. Since then they have undergone many changes and have grown to become the premier Swap Meet in San Diego County. Kobey’s occupies the parking lot at the San Diego Sports Arena with a selling capacity of approximately one thousand vendors. Holding to the belief that diversity is a good thing, Kobey’s offers the Shopper a mixture of new and used items. They do, however, have prohibited merchandise and certain items which must conform to all governmental specifications.
Kobey’s is in operation every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Shopper’s hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Kobey’s Swap Meet draws approximately 30,000 – 40,000 shoppers weekly. Kobey’s Swap Meet attracts more buyers because they are committed to a heavy advertising campaign consisting of television, radio, newspaper, and billboards.
Always love coming down and seeing what kinda gems can be found. Used to be much better but that makes the deals or gems even sweeter to find. Makes you really hunt and appreciate the thrill of the chase, you know? Gotta love that feeling of knowing you scored something truly special. Can't wait to come back and dig through it all again soon!d. Used to be much better but that makes the deals or gems even better if you can find them.
This is my number two favorite swap me to go to my number one favorite swap meet at spring Valley. Kobe swap meet it's an awesome swap meet but the only thing wrong with this remind me that is too expensive to get in it's overpriced now if you're lucky to be disabled or a senior citizen you get discount. It was better when they had disabled getting for what the prices that the vendors are selling stuff I like the vintage items which I called older used stuff does swap meet should be cheaper. The vintage sellers chargers way too much for their stuff one time I see no shirt that should have been in the trash that was so wholly it wasn't even funny they wanted almost $100 for it. They have the vintage days that or cool sometimes you find good deals mostly expensive. And they have great DJs there mixing live I wish they would bring got DJs SD to DJ sometime so that way I can DJ with them too.
Cool vintage swapmeet but Racist staff/older gentleman, I was leaving when I realized I left one of my bags at a vendor both he didn’t let me go inside to retrieve it accused me of not buying a ticket and wanted me to buy another one when the swapmeet was over already, I showed him my ticket and said it could be a old ticket from last week like what? I walked out for less than a second and realized what had happened bad experience luckily was only a shirt that was left behind but still ??
This is the spot to find some the most random stuff. From household goods, clothing's, electronics (video games, DVDs, CDs, etc) hand held tools for the tradesmen, and many more assorted items to become your next best treasures. I spent 3 hours walking and browsing around different venues, there was still much more deals to explore. I am definitely amazed at this swap meet. Glad I went earlier because this place gets packed. Check it out, you may find some great items for yourself or some amazing gift ideas.
Best deals are at the fixed price tables like $1, $2, $5. Otherwise they size you up and want to play "let's make a deal" which a lot of people are uncomfortable doing.
Most definitely my favorite Swat Meet in San Diego. Been coming here for years always good deals on new shoes, skateboard gear and nowadays a bunch of Hot Wheels being sold so that pretty cool amongst a bunch of other goodies
Bunch of tweeeekers selling stolen stuff..you could write a tweeker book. one hideous man with no shoes on .cigarette smokers and dogs taking a dump .all vendors are just reselling stuff they bought there. If you want to see the lowest scum of the world go there .ate a hot dog there got radical diarrhea 99% stuff is stolen .cops should raid that place if you're looking for your stolen bike it's there
My favorite swap meet i go all the time!! Always find great deals on random things that i totally needed! Lots of friendly vendors as well that will give you good deals (some not as nice hahah) Only $2 to enter! Whenever i’m in San diego try to every weekend!
Not as grand as the other swap meets which I love because you get more people selling their own stuff. This one is more of a giant yard sale. They still have the manufactured goods from warehouses, like electronics, Walmart returns etc. food trucks and porta potties in the back
Fun wandering around even if there's nothing you want. Bought used very dirty basketball for my dog. $5. Great price once it was cleaned up. $1 senior , free parking
Fun to see all they have at Kobey's. Some new stuff, very old, interesting things too. While most are 2nd hand treasures. You'd be surprised if you really get into it what you can find here. Check it out sometime.
I enjoy spending a few hours on Saturday or Sunday looking for things. Recently however, the fees to get in have jumped and some of the vendors that bring table after table of stuff believe the have multi-millions of dollars on their tables, charging a fortune, and the products are not of the greatest quality, that's the nature of Swap meet picking.
This swap meet was straight trash along with what the vendors were selling. If I could have gotten a refund for entrance costs I would have. Everything was dated and appeared to have come from a dumpster. Do not waste your time or petroleum going to this place. Drive past it and don’t even look at it from your peripheral vision.
Lots of vendors. The cost to get in is 2 dollars. Parking can be challenging. You need to arrive in the mornings. By the afternoon, vendors start packing and leaving. Some choices for food and drink. None are great. Port a potys are gross and were maxed out.
Nice way to spend a day.... chilling & getting ur steps in! Fruit/veggie vendors seem to have disappeared. Vendors selling new items no longer willing to negotiate so plan accordingly for the cash!
Get ready to walk, this swap meet is big! Lots of variety but I focused on classic videogames and anime figures, and there are plenty of vendors available.
I wish I could make it out here more often. There are a lot of great vendors with great deals. I can’t justify spending a lot on clothes so this is the perfect place to find new clothes for a great price. I also enjoy thrifting old clothes so it’s a win/ win all around.
We had a blast last Saturday with a friend. First time to be a seller and we did pretty good. End up selling Batman Armour. Met some new friend and potential new business partner.
It's an outdoor area by the pechanga stadium. Parking is a bit of a hassle. There were lots of police who made me feel safe, which was really nice to see duty officers patrolling the area. The prices vary since it's a swap meet. Some sell low, and some sell high. Bought 2 anime shirts for 30 bucks, which would cost 50 at the mall. Such a great find. Went mostly to walk around and spend time outside. There are lots of video games as well. Lots of clothes booths. Lots to see and purchase. I'll probably go back in a month, just to see what's new.
Kobey swapmeet is a staple of San Diego’s local culture. Back in the 80’s and 90’s this was such a fun weekend activity that gives me a nostalgic feeling just thinking about the times my father would take me there and teach me how to negotiate for a good price. I’d enjoy all the people watching and some tasty treats. These days it still attracts a friendly crowd of people and hasn’t lost its original touch of serving the San Diego community.
awesome flea market. come on saturday and sunday for a huge selection of stuff. whatever you want, you’ll probably find here. great place for cheap clothing, vinyls, plants and other stuff. i come here often and never leave empty handed!
Alot of stuff just thrown on the ground a mess. Great flowers. Some not very friendly for vendors. But I believe I purchased a book off of Dave Hester from storage wars. He was friendly and when we asked he said some people think he looks like me. No yuup hat but I am pretty sure. If so he was the best part of that swap meet
Kobey’s swap meet has everything that you’re looking for in a flea market. Many, many vendors with an incredible variety of items for sale. Everything from Baseball cards to house plants, you’ll find it there. Military get in free, otherwise I believe it’s just a dollar or two to get in. Great place to find local treasures.
Lot's of interesting stuff old and new.Discovered this cool old artist Randy California. cool art, cool vinyl records.Lot's of used clothes, furniture.also they have massage tables.Food, they also have gadgets for home and work. Vintage jewelry. Interesting place good time for $2
loved to shop at santee swap but the new owner there is so rude and so is their new lazy staff. since our fam stopped going there we now come here almost every weekend fri-sun. we love just going for a walk and being outside. the 1$ tables are awesome. lots of stuff to look at. i put a 3 star just because the nicer end stuff is pretty pricey and most won't haggle. also tried buying some cheap makeup for the kids but saw it was about 3 dollars more than the dollar store. this was stuff we can and did find at dollar store so we opted out. wish it had more food options and more parking on busy days but still fun place to walk.
Kobey's is the best!! It's Great Fun to walk around & see what can be found!! From vendors who are always there, to people getting rid of some things. It's a great in town venue!! I have my doubts whether they still exist, since Snapdragon is there now?
Love it!!!! My favorite place to go it's only $2 to get in I found all of my stuffed animals there. I would definitely tell everyone to come to the swap meet and check it out
As a recent seller - last 3 months, I can only say that this is one great location for our product. It took us about 6 times to find a great spot that now we rent monthly. It takes a few times and repeats to finally get set up as a routine. Also to Figure out shade and walking flow. The other long time sellers are helpful and cool. We buy from them and they buy from us. Our overall experience is 5 stars.
Kobey was a happening place. Lots of vendors and customers with great San Diego weather. The down side is that the parking was hard to find. I will miss the Arena when they tear it down because it will require donating some of the land for affordable housing when there is not enough for parking at events now!
The Best classiest swapmeet in San Diego. A wide variety of items and staff is too nice. Real San Diego staff w passion. I LOVE this place and appreciate the staff always treating me like a person. Kobes Rules.
Deals, deals, deals and more deals. You can find GREAT deals on almost anything out there. I found all new items on my visit and I was EXTREMELY happy with my finds.
My daughter and I and a friend had a great time wandering the hundreds of stalls. New stuff, old stuff, junk, etc. The fruit and veggies looked good and prices were low. Admission is $2.
Haven't been in a while, got pet I.D. tags.New Green Bay license plate holders for my car at a great price.Already planning what to get next trip.Got a good parking space too.
Nice walk to stroll up and down all the isles. Interesting stuff on sale. I was surprised at how many toy booths there are with lots of anime! Great weather today made for a good experience.
Arrive as early as possible if you want the full experience. Friendly vendors and a myriad of different things for sale. Prices are always reasonable, and NEVER purchase without at least attempting to haggle. Almost all the vendors will slash the price of an item If you try not to seem too excited about buying it, and ask to spend less.
My favorite swap meet! Nice mix of new and used goods with lots of variety. I particularly like the surf brand clothing booth where brand names sell for $5-15. Also great for sunglasses, produce, and used toys, sporting goods, and housewares. . .and all kinds of stuff beyond that. The vibe is pretty mellow, and parking is usually easy.
All the sellers at the swap meet are so courteous and friendly. It started to rain lightly and a seller welcomed me under her canopy. I bought a tall table and the seller carried it out to my car for me after he called his wife to stay in his sell area. It is just a lot of fun, browsing around and looking at different items.
It's. A great place to spend the day you never know what you'll find. But there's no place to sit not even for the handicap. The snack shack prices are HUGE $$$for their largest glass is $5 for a small almost the size of child's large tumbler not worth it with all the financial problems that's going on right now so I'd bring something and leave it in the car and get the return stamp or just bring water. Enjoy a day out with family or friends.
Walkable from the Caltrain station. Stadium has many entrances so if you see a line in the main gate I would suggest you trying other entrances. The stadium has many selection of food and drinks. Had a great time here. Go Giants!
I’ve enjoyed buying and selling at kobeys swap meet since 1987! After the 2008 recession dealers now offer quality merchandise at well below market value. These are dealers that sell monthly throughout the year to provide wholesale prices to the public. I’ve met many customers that are now my friends for life! I take good care of my friends.
Good selection of vendors, best day is Sunday. Best deals are in the afternoon. Plenty of parking all around. Great for people and dog watching as well, all sorts of characters flock to flea markets. Everything from plants to fruit to flowers is available as well. Following all COVID guidelines. Good shopping experience overall, will likely be returning.
Love this place. I've been coming here since I was a kid. Tons of new stuff, and tons of old stuff. Great for clothes, sunglasses, plants, fresh fruit, jewelry, pretty much everything. It's even open during the pandemic. great outdoor activity good prices
You can walk around and try to find random items, or shop for a purpose. There are couple fruit and vegetable stands, many clothing and accessories (hats, masks, hair clips etc), toys, tools, knifes, collectibles, phone accessories, books, gardening tools, DVDs, succulents, basically everything including kitchen sink (yes, I saw a vendor marketing new bath/kitchen remodelling). Entrance is $2 on weekends, $1 coupon for Saturday can be found on their site (must be printed). If you don't find something to buy that's $2/person wasted, but I guess it helps with the crowd control.
You'll never know what you might find here and the people watching is amazing. With a few exceptions*, the prices are fair to great. Make sure to get the donuts. *There are a few vendors that are there every weekend who have no problem trying unreasonably overcharge you in the hopes that you are clueless.
A really fun place to wander. I admit some things are a bit pricey, but that should not stray you away from how wonderful this flea market really is. There are many items that are one of a kind. This flea market is huge! Honestly, if I had unlimited amounts of cash and a huge house to furnish, I would go crazy here.
Hit or miss depending on what you're purchasing. Some folks are flexible with their pricing so you get to enjoy a bit of "tug-of-war" with the pricing. I wish there were more food vendors there but overall it's a great spot to get some unique items!
All vendors were selling only used items. This swap meet used to be filled with vendors selling new and used. Only 2 food vendors. Most spots empty. Not worth it for a swap meet.
They always have something that you want you might not need it. Price are not to high. This the only place I can find patches for my jackets for a good price.
Good setup. Using every other space, so it covers a lot larger area than before. Fantastic prices on masks/face coverings due to multiple sellers. Go early to ensure you have enough time to browse and not have too many folks at your elbow. Bring gloves if you're going to pick through the dump table style vendors.
Very clean and almost everyone was wearing a mask! Booths were separated so it allowed for more space and didn't feel as crowded! Overall, felt like they were taking good COVID precautions
Love this place. The best venue in San Diego. Good exercise. Clean restrooms. Quality employees. The best owner who cares about his customers. SHOP THE SWAP!!
Awesome place, really nice people and beyond unbeatable prices. Got this full breathable face mask for only four dollars and these wireless earphones for 10.
****It can be a hit or miss with this location. Watch out for thieves when your unloading you vehicle. The thieves are quick & quiet. One person should unload while the other watch. They are there EVERY TIME we sell. Now, does this business do anything about the thrives? I've NEVER seen and/or heard of any prosecution? This swap meat can nickel dime you with extras. So make sure you have tables, chairs, etc. I hope this helps you out********
We enjoyed the visit here. Lot of interesting stuff in the Swap meet. The day we visited there was a Volkswagen Beetle car show. It was interesting to watch Muti-colored Volkswagen Beetle. You get good deal if you haggle! Good place to visit.
A good mix of used and new. Found some new Pyjamas for $5 a piece that normally sell for $45. Lots of bargains and oh the donuts ?. Lots of parking. Parking is big enough for RVs. Most vendors only take cash. After spending your money, grab some lunch at either Phil’s BBQ next door or Los Panchitow Mexican around the corner. Have fun shopping ?
